Shout out Friday

I was talking to my SIL about vacations not being vacations for mommies.
We have to pack, make sure everything is good, etc. etc.
Pretty much, we still have to be mommies.
But one vacation I enjoy, is a trip to the grocery store alone.
I can look around, take my time. Observe every aisle.
Even look at junk food & buy it w/o anyone knowing
or begging me for some.
Good thing for mini 20 minute vacations.

Fourth of July (pics only)

Sleepy Heads

It's been a busy few weeks with a little travel & family coming to visit.
I would love to post all the pics I've taken, but I know I won't get to it.
Here are my favorites.
Of course, it's pictures of the people I love doing my favorite thing.
SLEEP.

Shout out Friday

Children's songs......

As a child, I never noticed that the music I listened to was weird. But these last few months, as a Mother, what were people thinking? I don't mind reliving the black plaque with "ring around the rosies" or Yankee doodle getting "handy" with the girls. Although Grant did ask me what that meant. Hilarious. But what about "my bonnie" lying over the ocean? Nathan asked why Bonnie had to die over the ocean. I know the someone in the kitchen with Dina is a locomotive, but only if you looked it up on Wikipedia. Otherwise, it could be a lot worse. Or losing your "lover" by courting too slow? I thought it was about a mountain of meatballs. And that annoying song that never ends. It was obviously NOT created by someone with kids. You can't get to Heaven on roller skates. Don't get me started on that one. Since when did I get so anal as to screen my kid's "children's" music?

Can't believe they just said that...

So I'm in DI (a thrift store), when I see 2 employees gossiping about another one. I try not to judge that they're not doing a lick of work when one walks over to me.
"Are these ALL YOUR kids?" she asks.
"Sure enough" I say.
"Wow, how far along are you?"
"5 months."
And with a super sweet 16 year old naive voice.....
"I'm expecting my first, I hope I never get that big."

I stood there, pondering whether I should laugh in her face,
or give her a lesson in tact.
Instead, I smiled & told her good luck.
Oh, to be so young with such rosy colored glasses.

Baby #4

So the tech said she's 90% sure it's a girl.
Sometimes it looked like a boy, others, nothing.
SIGH.
I'm going with girl since it sure seems she's
starting early with giving me headaches.
And making me eat whole LARGE bags of PB M&M's.
My pants aren't fitting. My fat maternity pants.
This happened with Charly too.
It must be the female hormones.
They equal large backside.
I guess the batch of fudge & no bake cookies
last week didn't help either.

She was also caught yakking it up in there.
Seriously, her mouth was constantly moving.
Open close, open close.
That's what we girls do well.
I have another appointment tomorrow.
Maybe it will be more clear.
So maybe it's a Lewis or Luke.
Or Elliot Joy Olee, or Riley or Claire.
Hmmm.
We'll see.
